Italian symphonic and operatic conductor, Renato Balsadonna has also held long term positions as Chorus Director at Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels and at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London appointed in both cases by Music Director Antonio Pappano.
He has conducted I due Foscari, Nabucco and Madama Butterfly for the Royal Opera House. He has also worked with many opera houses and internationally acclaimed choruses and orchestras as guest conductor, including collaborations with Frankfurt Opera (Don Carlo, Lucia di Lammermoor), Teatro Verdi in Trieste (La Bohème) Opera de Nice (Tosca), with Accademia Nazionale Santa Cecilia in Rome and with Dallas Opera. He conducted regularly the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He conducted recently with great success Nabucco and Lucrezia Borgia at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, gaining immediate invitations by Valery Gergiev. Plans include Norma in Nice and La Traviata for Cincinnati Opera.
