You’re mostly likely to come across Opera Prelude through our year-round series of events, mainly lecture recitals, spectacular concerts and intimate private parties. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Opera Prelude exists because of how tough it can be for young singers in the early stages of their careers.
Unlike some programmes, we don’t charge a fee to become an Opera Prelude Young Artist. However we offer a great deal – mostly by creating fairly paid performance opportunities, something which can be surprisingly hard to come by as a young singer. These opportunities include our year-round lecture series, as well as recitals and our increasingly wide-ranging outreach programme.
We also offer bursaries and mini-grants to help our young artists.
