Storace and Soane: icons and influencers at the turn of the 19th century

At the turn of the 19th century, opera, it’s stars and heroes, dominated conversation among society’s elite. One of the greatest English architects, Sir John Soane, developed a close friendship with star soprano Nancy Storace, the English prodigy who inspired one of Mozart's greatest operatic characters. How did this chance meeting turn into a lifelong family connection? In this performance Lewis Gaston (Opera Conductor) and Shafali Jalota, soprano, Brenton Spiteri tenor, and Thomas Ang on piano will explore this unexpected friendship in a narrated concert of two 45 minute Acts, either side of an interval.

Doors open at 6.00, performance 6:30-8:30

Parking available in a field one minute’s walk away – flat shoes advised!

The bar will be open before the performance and during the interval.
