The next generation…
We know how vital it is to inspire the next generation of artists, music lovers and theatre-goers. That is why, in 2023, we partnered with emerging composer Georgia Barnes, to compose an opera for children based on Nicholas Allens’ best-selling book.
The King’s Pants were first aired at the Isle of Wight Story Festial in February 2024 to joyful acclaim. We are continuing to tour the piece throughout the UK, particularly to areas of social deprivation and where access to culture is limited.
We would like to thank author and illustrator Nicholas Allan for his generosity of spirit in allowing us to turn his wonderful book into a family friendly opera. Grateful thanks also to Age Unlimited and The Golsoncott Foundation for their support.
Education
As we grow our aim is to broaden our work in schools , bringing our talented emerging artists to work with and sing with students of all ages and social backgrounds. This work is not only vital in plugging the huge hole in the cultural curriculum in so many schools in the UK, but it is also of true value to our artists, as they grow into rounded and mature performers.
